So, you are going to visit Disneyland Paris! Mickey Mouse, Snow White and Winnie-the-Pooh are waiting for you, but how do you get to them? Read the following tips.
You can go to Disneyland by underground
Metro is the easiest (and the cheapest) way to get to the amusement park. In fact, you don’t need the Metro you need suburban trains, RER. They run across the capital and link different Parisian suburbs. Take line A, heading towards Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. In Paris you can get on this train at these stops: Defense, Opera, Chatelet, Gare de Nord and Nation. You get off at the final stop, Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. This line was designed especially for Disneyland. You’ll find the entrances to both theme parks (Parc Disneyland and Parc Walt Disney Studios®) in literally less than 100 metres. The first one is the most famous park, with Sleeping Beauty’s castle, and rides for children and adults. The second one is considered to be more serious, it is aimed at grown-ups and its rollercoasters are more dangerous.
You can get to the local hotels and the Disney® Village from the same station.
Some of them are situated near the RER station Val d'Europe, and there is a shopping centre and an aquarium.
You can go to Disneyland by bus
There are several options:
First of all, lots of travel agencies arrange bus tours to Disneyland. With their help you can get to the park from the centre of Paris: the stop is in Pyramid Street (the 1st district) in front of the Louvre, near the monument of Joan of Arc. The price includes the transfer fare and an entrance ticket: €82 per adult and €72 per child.
You can buy a ticket for a bus tour at our site. To clarify: it’s a return ticket from Paris to Disneyland and back, you won’t have to deal with the RER map. Then, you can get to Disneyland directly from an airport. Val d'Europe Airports (VEA) shuttle links Charles de Gaulle airport, hotels and Disneyland. The journey takes 45 minutes, the price is €18 per adult, €15 per child. The same shuttle, Val d'Europe Airports, links Orly Airport with some hotels and the Disneyland theme park. It takes 45 minutes to get there, and the price is €18.
Lastly, you can take the night bus - Noctilien – it’s the best option if you need to get to Lyon railway station in Paris. The bus stop is in front of the RER station Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. The bus runs at night, at 0.30am.
The Disneyland Paris Express
The park offers the same service as Cityrama or other travel companies: a combined ticked, which includes transfer fare and entry for both theme parks. It is comfortable for two reasons: 1) you can get on the express at four stops (all of them are near the interchange metro stations: Gare du Nord, Opéra, Madeleine, Châtelet; 2) you save time and money as the the combined ticket is cheaper than if you bought each part separately.
You can go to Disneyland by taxi
If you are travelling with children, perhaps the best option is to call a taxi. A taxi from Paris to Disneyland costs €80 or more, the driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you right to the park entrance. Also if you want to spend several days in the park and stay in the nearby hotels, it is appropriate to call a taxi at the airport. You can call a taxi to Disneyland.
We’ll remind you one more time: the cheapest way to get to Disneyland is to buy RER tickets in advance (with a special Francilien offer). If you are going to buy tickets on the spot, in Paris, it will make more sense to join a bus tour. Anyway, the cheapest and the easiest way is to buy a combined ticket, which includes transfer fare and a Disneyland entry ticket.
